It appears to be the case, Fredrick William Athersuch was his little brother, both of them Bristolians, I could write a book on them, then there is the little matter of those clasps isn't there.

Well, I'd love to see the other medals, look again at the roll, I maybe 6ooo miles away, but, I do know where Estcourt is and indeed was, unless Jacob has moved it.

What am I missing. I see a whole lot were returned.

There is a yes under the Def of Ladysmith clasp. Or am I wrong

I think that all of those medals have a Defence and not a Relief clasp, the roll says yes under relief, not defence, I also think if I was in Ladysmith right now, it would take me only a little longer to drive to Harrismith as it would to get down to Estcourt?
Estcourt was not defended by Sir George White.

I agree with you. I think the clerk that wrote up the roll just put the yes in the middle of the column.

Lets see if I can find any info on the man and then we will know
