It really is a poor show from Spink, I get the feeling they "rushed to print" the catalogue. Without even a thorough check I picked up the following Lots which should be listed together. There are more, but these were the ones that interested me:

Lot 78 WCP Jones and
Lot 103 WP Jones – same person

Lot 56 Hageman and
Lot 104 – same person

Lot 128 Heunis and
Lot 229 same person

A bit of a disservice to the consignors perhaps?

Lot 80 and Lot 93 I would say is the same man as well.

I have written to Marcus this morning to raise these concerns with him.

I raised similar concerns on the BMF and was given a lambasting by one who experienced difficulty in grasping what I was trying to convey. It's odd how the passions of some can be so easily aroused.

Thanks for raising the matter with Marcus, David - I think I'll trot along on the 24th so as to be in the room. Some excellent Lots there from a 40 year old collection (so I hear)

He really didn’t like your comments but his response was unreasonable in my opinion.

I was in contact with Marcus yesterday. He explained that Spink has been given a large quantity of medals that were disorganised and with little documentation. He is looking at those potential split lots and also acknowledged that the photography was not up to their usual standards.
