A small auction by usual standards, just 257 lots in the next Spink auction on 20 July but there are some nice officers' QSAs.

Some more poor cataloguing by Spink

I have asked the representatives of Spink why the order of medals in their images is often wrong and see the practice continues.

This listing contains a third error where 1917 is used in place of 1897.

They've also made the common mistake of having the Khedive's Sudan the wrong way round. The trophies of arms is the reverse. The obverse is the Arabic script that reads "Abbas Hilmi the Second AH 1314".

The catalogue for the auction on 29 November has been released: www.spink.com/auction/23003

A wide range of material despite only 372 lots with a strong gallantry section, especially aviation.

I have never seen an estimate for a medal lot as high as lot 1:

I believe I will be passing on making a bid for lot 1!

A good selection of casualties wounded or killed in action from the Korean War, if this conflict is a field of interest.
