Seems like Spink are getting their act together, they are beginning to put the medals together, where needed.:)

Several of the QSAs in Monday's auction hammered at £60-£70 which is at the lowest end of the range seen for QSAs without defects. Several went unsold which is unusual these days.

The QSA (4) Rhodesia, Relief of Mafeking, Transvaal, Orange Free State (433 Sjt: G. H. Webb. S. Rhod: Vols:) sold for a hammer price of £580. Totals (inc VAT on the commission for the UK only): £719. R14,300. Au$1,230. Can$1,120. US$840

The GV DCM group to the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders ( www.angloboerwar.com/forum/5-medals-and-...nders?start=18#87326 ) sold for a hammer price of £6,000. Totals (inc VAT on the commission for the UK only): £7,440. R147,600. Au$12,740. Can$11,590. US$8,710

Good Morning David.......

I think that except for the "Must Have" medals and the effects of the economy there has been very little purchased...... For some of us it is Food or Medals...... Tried to sell a DFC group with Log books and tons of other items and was only offered less than 1/2 of what it was worth 2 years ago......

Hi David,

I'm not sure if it had an impact but there was also the Morton & Eden auction at the same time; perhaps it also split the pool of potential buyers. The QSA's with a good background were well bid.

There has been a lot of QSA's on the market in the past few weeks between Spinks and Noonans and perhaps it also reflects the supply side dynamic of the market.

Anyway just my 5c worth; keep up the good work.
