White metal. 32.32 mm diam., 17.54 grams.

Fitted with original ribbon and gilt lion top brooch suspender.

Similar medallions were also issued for Rondebosch, Wynberg, and Kalk Bay & Muizenberg.

Silver strikings were issued to elected councillors of these municipalities.

Silver. 32.86 mm diam., 18.78 grams. Fitted with original ribbon and silver to brooch suspender.

In anticipation of the early cessation of hostilities after the fall of Pretoria silver medallions were presented to dignitaries whereas white metal examples were issued to school children. The war of course continued for a further two years.

Silver and enamel (blue, white and red). Missing loop. 17.25 mm diam., 2.19 grams.
Hallmark: Chester.

Issued after the British entered Pretoria restoring British pride after the Majuba Battle during the First Anglo Boer War of 1881 where the Boer Force heavily defeated the British.
