Bosleys sold a nice C hallmark Kimberley Star for the reasonable price of £190 yesterday.

Sorry to resurrect an ancient post but J.A. Bodley was my great-grandfather. Where is this medal now? Is it for sale?
Also, I would be interested in talking to the relative in order to compare ancestry notes. Could you PM me contact info?

Looking closely at the pictures, this C hallmark Star on offer at Liverpool Medals is different to the one sold recently at Bosleys. A striking difference is that this one is a lot more expensive (Hammer of £190 compared to £345) and the Bosley example included the top bar.

Sadly, time stops for no one, prices seem to creep ever upwards, whilst there is and always has been a clear difference between the price paid in the provincial saleroom and that of retail, the gap has begun to narrow, the increase in charges over recent times, in the case of the former, can certainly not be dismissed out of hand, as once it might.
