Another miniature Kimberley Star was sold at Noonan's yesterday. The lot, with 3 miniature QSAs, sold for a hammer price of £700. Totals (inc VAT for UK only): £902. R18,300. Au$1,540. Can$1,450. US$1,070

Described (unclearly) as:

Mayor of Kimberley’s Star 1899-1900 (4), with date hallmark 'a', this lacking suspension ring and reverse heavily cleaned; remainder with date hallmark 'b', one with ring only, very fine, with four top riband bars (4)

Spink sold the four Kimberley Stars this afternoon for a hammer price of GBP 650. Totals: GBP 806. R 17,990. AUD 1,480. NZD 1,610. CAD 1,320. USD 1,000. EUR 900.

In marked contrast to the price for four somewhat incomplete Stars at Spink for a total of £800, Liverpool Medals are asking £545 for a single Star.
