A contribution to this topic from my “Surname” collection

12277 William Alfred Wray a fishmonger from Harrogate.

Attested 9 Feb 1900 and discharged 16 June 1901 (c.492 days)

Served with “Gun Section” 3rd Imp Yeo, 1 of 12 men on that roll

Re-enlisted on January 1902 in 120th Company I.Y., and served 112 days in S.A. to 31st May. Finally discharged on 3rd September 1902.

His name appears on the medal roll for the KSA with the note “Not entitled”.

Unfortunately, and perhaps crucially, page 4 of his 1st set of papers is totally blank in the section “Service at Home and Abroad” so we can’t check how many days of his 492 were in S.A.

The QSA was bought from a Glendinning sale in 1990 and re-united with the Tribute medal from a Spink sale in 2009. Presumably I’m still missing a Harrogate Tribute medal.

Neville,

I have just spotted your post. I have Booth's YT in my collection. As you can see it has had the ring suspender replaced with something else! I would very much appreciate a good quality scan of the photo if not too much trouble.

Regards
Paul

28027 E Wilds has a medal roll entry under unposted IY with entitlement to clasps C O T SA01. Under comments it states med unfit 12.10.01. His papers were likely removed from the file for pension purposes. I will have a dig around and see if I can find anything.
