Fantastic, John

What an extraordinary catalogue of Yorkshire Tribute Medals.

I have just four examples.

"3"
23044 Sgt A.W. Lund, 66th Company, 3rd Bn I.Y.
28027 ??? E. WILDS (no evidence found that this man served)
22908 PTE. J.R. ADDINALL, 11th Company, 3rd Bn. I.Y.

"66"
12351 L.S. WALLIS, 66th Company, 16th Bn I.Y.

Hi Neville,
I thought I might find something re E Wilds in Birkin’s, but sadly no. There is an off chance he served with another regiment as I’ve seen rare YTs awarded to Yorkshire men from non-county regiments.

The info in Birkin’s’s on Booth (109 Squadron) is there and is as follows:

32257 Booth, G. - Joined Regt 07/05/01 -promoted corporal 02/07/02 and returned with Regt 06/08/02.

It’s nice you’ve got the third type reverse. I’ve never been fortunate to come across one. The site has two pairs in its gallery of medals, which I’m sure you’ve seen, that are very nice.

Thanks John,

Interestingly, Wilds's service number falls between 28026 Trooper Frank Weighell and 28028 Trooper Arthur Whitley. Both these men served in the 3rd Battalion, the first in the 11th Company, the second in the 66th.

It has crossed my mind that he never embarked, but somehow still managed to get his hands on the tribute.

Neville

Here is a mini group. An original miniature YT is quite scarce to find.

That is excellent, John. This thread has been long overdue.
