Hi All

Here in another unusual grouping

QSA - Tpr W S Cohen W. Prov MR - bar CC
BWM - Capt W S Cohen
Victory - Capt W S Cohen - with MID
Greek - order of the Redemeer
Greek - Merit cross 1916-1917
plus all his mini medals - note that the center of the greek order is missing. Presumably removed as Cohen was Jewish and looks like he never wore his full size medals only the minis

Thank you for showing two unusual groups. I wouldn't be surprised if both are unique. You must have a special talent for finding oddities!

Regards
Brett

Hi everybody

This time an unusual medal combination awarded to a Burgher.

It is one of my "mystery groups" and came together from 3 sources. The AGS medal was acquired from Chimperie Agencies in Somerset West in June 1990 The ABO medal was bought in Feb 1992 from our member Justin Davies' father (Trevor Davies of Roberts Medals. After a long search I traced a grandson of Botes in 2000: with some WWI medals to another relation he had the DCM (as scanned above) butit was unnamed. He could offer no explanation, and said that the tin with medals came from his mother who said they all belonged to his grandfather. He had never looked at the rims of the medals.

I have consulted a number of DCM experts : none had an explanation
