That is indeed a most unusual and desirable medal group. I think it can be safely classed as "unique". Thank you for showing it.

I have a South African Mercantile Marine pair in my collection but, sadly, it does not belong with any of the numerous QSA's in the same collection!

The book's too big to scan but here are his details from the Cheltenham College Register 1841-1927:

Mansfield, Charles Bertram Heyworth

son of the late Charles Basil Mansfield, Esq.; born 24th March 1879, left Easter 1897

2nd Lieut (from Lumsden's Corps), 19th Hussars, 1900; joined Indian Army 1902; Capt., 1910; 8th Cav. S. African War, 1899-1902 (Q. Med with four cls.) Major, 1916; Afghanistan 1919 (Med.); A/Lt. Col., Commdg 41st Cav. Ret. 1925.

Address: Llys Onen, Kearnsey, Natal, South Africa

Regarding Charles Bertram Heyworth MANSFIELD
The History of Lumsden's Horse shows him as a member of No.2 Section, and occupation as Indigo planter of the Ramcollah Concern, Saran. Unfortunately, no photo is shown for C.E.B. MANSFIELD.

Is his QSA SJAB or RAMC?
