Johnathan,

As Henk says, City Coins have the most flexible bidding system of any auction house. The ability to set up different scenarios or strategies is fantastic for buyers.

Hi Jonathan, I can only agree with Henk and others that the City Coins auction is unique. I live in France and have regularly purchased from City Coins. They will ship from SA to the UK and if memory serves me correctly you won't have to pay taxes etc due to the age of the items.

I understand how Henk says bid as high as possible but as he also says, it could get expensive as I once found out so as usual, set yourself the maximum you are prepared to pay for an item. If you are bidding on a number of items, then set yourself a total maximum and let City Coins know that they can role over any excess to another item or items. It sounds a bit weird but it does work

A truly epic sale, I can only liken it to the Glendenning's Centenary collection, where you have a once in a collecting lifetime chance to get that gem. I could blow a decades budget, but will be happy if I can 2 or 3 of the things I truly want.
Bravo to CC and to those that put together what is not only the most extensive but exhaustive catalogue I have ever seen, it in itself is a collectors item.

Thanks to everyone who shared their advice & tips. I have one last question, rather later in the day given the deadline for submitting bids - does anyone have the bid sheet in a form other than PDF? I can't edit/write onto a PDF with my WFH set-up, so a Word/Google Docs format would be great,

Irrespective of that, looking forward to the auction, it was a long, pleasurable torture to try and choose some lots to bid on!
Best wsiesh,
Johnathan

Johnathan,

Here is the PDF translated into an A5 Word document.

Enjoy filling it in!

Best wishes
David
