Meurig
The Biggins "Talana Account and Medal Roll" has him as "Taken prisoner, armoured train disaster, Chieveley, 15 Nov. 99. Not on casualty roll". Perhaps 4542 Pte. Flanagan was momentarily captured during the Armoured Train incident?

David, was the blurb you posted re Flanagan from the DNW catalogue? I just looked at the lot in the DNW Archive and there is no blurb.

Thanks David.

I found some new names for Dublin Fusiliers posted as missing in the Army & Navy Gazette for Nov 18, 1899 which come from a "telegram". This list was also printed in The Times on the same day. Interestingly some names I cannot locate at all in medal rolls or find service papers for. Something is amiss.

I don't have your book on Talana so can't x-ref. Perhaps, this weekend I will write a blog on the armoured train casualties.
