J. H. Best attested for the King’s Royal Rifle Corps, and served with the 1st Battalion in India at the Relief of Chitral, and in South Africa during the Boer War. He was invalided back to England 8 October 1900, but returned for active service in South Africa in early 1902, thus qualifying for the KSA (1).

On ebay is a confirmed single clasp QSA to Cpl Ward who DOD 8 Jan 1900.

I think if you can actually find something you want on ebay that you are going to be happy with, it is certainly , ultimately worth pursuing given you are not having to pay twenty percent plus VAT that can be expected in provincial salerooms these days.

The QSA to Ward sold for £268 which is a very good price.

Agreed, on the face of it, certainly a pleasing medal.
