Frank

I was trying to be diplomatic

I really cannot understand how such an historic group could have been split up...sad!

I do like your use of the word "recovered" a certain C J Rhodes was in favour of the "recoverery" of the United States! :)

I see nothing wrong with a universal symbol such as the poppy being used for all wars, it has for so long been associated with British/Commonwealth rememberance services.(not sure about the USA and European countries, do they also use it?)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remembrance_Day

I am privileged to have one of Major Percy Nugent Fitzpatricks WW1 medals, recovered it from the USA about 5 years ago.

Nice touch David.

Brian

I do believe that the US (sadly) is beyond recovery, with such debt only the Chinese would want it! Cecil would turn in his grave if he saw the world today, especially his beloved Africa!

Hello Brian,
Well, he was at Oxford when he had that idea, as he said "what a dream" but, dreamers are important, they make things happen that others just dismiss! :(
I always liked his maxim diplomacy!
So you have not thought about buying Groote Schuur then?
Kind regards Frank

Rondebosch would be very you I think, you could hold meetings there, I'd certainly be very tempted to visit, drinks on the terrace with Mr H and Adrian, now that would be nice!
