Frank,

The building is indeed a museum today and only open to the public by appointment. Not to be confused with the world famous hospital of the same name.

Frank, by the way, we are now starting page 9

Regards
Adrian

Hi All

Watched the London Cenotaph parade on telly today, WOW that was really impressive!

There was a contingent from the SA Legion present I am glad to say. (and no doubt growing in numbers by the years). It has just been entered onto my "bucket list" as a parade to march in, before the end of my days.

I see the Zimbabwe representative was absent this year from the Commonwealth delegation? Old Bob must really be in hot water or he decided to boycott the parade? I just hope there were many ex Rhodesians representing that small countries contributions over the years?

Regards
Brian

The constant prostests outside Zim House on the Strand always bring a smile when I'm going to Charing Cross!
Bob certainly knows how to draw a crowd!

What an amazing thread which as Frank noted has followed a unpredictable course and for all that has been quite wonderful!

Better to come in late to this thread than never! I went to a reception given by the British Ambassador to Belgium for the officers, standard bearers etc. of the Royal British Legion in Brussels and Antwerp plus those involved in the WW1 and Waterloo commemorations.

One of the most extraordinary veterans I met that evening was a Belgian who had flown in the RAF in WW2, survived three days drifting in the North Sea, earning his gold Caterpillar Club badge (which he was wearing), shot down again he ended up in Stalag Luft III, worked on the Great Escape tunnels and was thankful he said to have drawn a ballot number higher than 76...

I took a photo of the beer for Frank...

Regards,

Justin
