ChamierEdwin Harold St LegerLieutenantHe died of enteric at Bloemfontein, May 7th, 1900. The eldest son of Edwin Francis Chamier of Goodrest, Exmouth. He was born in August 1876, educated at Cheltenham, and entered the Royal Artillery from the Royal Military Academy Woolwich, in November 1895, being promoted Lieutenant November 1898. Lieutenant Chamier was present at the battles of Paardeberg and Driefontein, and took part in the advance to Bloemfontein. His name was inscribed on the Eleanor Cross War Memorial at Cheltenham College.
